Helping You & Your Children Manage Myopia
Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is a common eye condition that affects children and young adults and makes distance vision blurry. Myopia generally develops during childhood and can affect children both inside and outside the classroom in their daily lives.
Through regular eye exams and proven myopia control strategies such as MiSight and ortho-k lenses, our team can help manage this vision issue and help your children excel.
The best time to begin myopia control is right away—contact us to schedule your appointment today.

What Is Myopia Control?
Myopia can get worse as kids grow. Standard eyeglasses and contacts can help correct blurry vision caused by myopia, but they do not slow its progression. Myopia control can slow myopia progression to protect your child’s long-term eye health and quality of life.
We offer several control options, including:
- MiSight contact lenses
- Ortho-k contact lenses
- Atropine eye drops
The Signs & Symptoms
of Myopia
Your children may not always be able to express when something is wrong with their vision. However, you can watch for some common signs and symptoms, including:
- Squinting to see distant objects
- Eye strain
- Blurry vision when looking at faraway objects
- Sitting too close to screens
If you notice any of these symptoms in your children, the first step is to schedule an eye exam with our team.
The Link Between
Myopia & Learning
When your child has trouble with their eyesight, it can impact their life at school and cause difficulty with reading from a distance, seeing the board in class, and participating in sports and other activities.
Vision-related learning challenges can lead to stress and confusion and, if left undiagnosed, can cause children to fall behind their friends.
Our team will work with you to develop a personalized myopia control plan that is right for your child.

We create a comfortable and friendly atmosphere where your child feels at ease. We’ll also answer any questions or concerns you may have about the different myopia control methods we offer.
MiSight 1 Day Contact Lenses
MiSight 1 day lenses are soft contact lenses that can help manage myopia in children. These lenses are comfortable to wear and help correct and slow the progression of myopia in children.
Studies have shown that MiSight lenses slow myopia progression by an average of 59%
MiSight lenses are daily-wear lenses, so they’re low-risk for children, and children as young as 8 years old have shown confidence in handling these lenses. If your children aren’t fans of wearing glasses, then MiSight may be the right option.
Ortho-k Contact Lenses
Orthokeratology, also known as ortho-k, are rigid, gas-permeable contact lenses that are worn overnight during sleep to mold your child’s cornea and help reduce their dependence on glasses and contact lenses throughout the day.
Ortho-k is ideal for children who are not ready for daily contact lenses or for those who participate in sports or other activities where glasses or daytime contacts may be inconvenient.
Stellest Myopia Control Glasses
Stellest spectacle lenses are designed by Essilor to help control the progression of myopia while correcting your child’s vision. The lenses include a central vision area in the middle of the lens that corrects nearsightedness, and use their HALT (Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target) technology around the outside of the lens to slow the progression of myopia.
Studies have shown that Stellest lenses help to slow the progression of myopia by 67% on average when worn 12 hours per day, compared to single vision lenses, which only correct nearsightedness.
Atropine Eye Drops
Low-dose atropine is an eye drop treatment method for children with myopia. Low-dose atropine drops can work by suppressing the eye’s growth to slow down the progression of myopia. This treatment is typically prescribed as a daily drop, administered in the evening before bedtime.
Corneal Topography
Corneal topography is a noninvasive imaging technique that maps the surface curvature of the eye. By regularly monitoring the corneal shape, we can assess the effectiveness of myopia control treatments and track changes in eye structure over time.
This data helps our team determine whether current myopia control strategies are successful and allows us to make adjustments when necessary.
